Ezri Konsa made his home debut for Aston Villa last night following his summer move from Championship club Brentford and helped his side into the last eight of the EFL Cup.
The Villans saw off local rivals Wolves 2-1 at Villa Park thanks to goals from Anwar El Ghazi and Ahmed Elmohamady despite Dean Smith ringing the changes.
That meant a rare start for young Konsa, who arrived at Villa with a big reputation for a young player but has had to be patient and wait for chances.
He certainly took it last night, with an assured performance in from of his own fans to allow them to start dreaming about a place in the showpiece final at Wembley.
He seemed to impress the supporters on Twitter who lauded him for his display after he sent out a message expressing what a ‘great night’ he had experienced.
One felt it’s only a matter of time before he breaks into the Premier League team and although competition there is tough, Konsa’s reputation is only going to grow if he keeps playing like this.
Different class tonight Ezri, soon be starting in the PL without doubt UTV
