A number of Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Ezri Konsa’s display as the Villans suffered a 2-0 defeat against Manchester City on Wednesday.
Dean Smith’s men played their part in an enthralling game at the Etihad Stadium. It did appear that the contest was destined to end in one of the best goalless draws in Premier League history.

However, City scored twice late on to secure the three points. And it appears that many felt that Konsa did not deserve to be on the losing side after another outstanding performance.
He could have done little about either goal. Many seemed to learn about a part of the offside law for the first time following the home side’s opener. And City’s second came after Matty Cash was penalised for a handball inside the box.

Whoscored.com shows that Konsa made six clearances during the game. Tyrone Mings was the only player on the pitch to manage more.
Meanwhile, the 23-year-old completed all of the 26 passes he attempted. Unsurprisingly, he was the only starter on either side to boast a flawless pass-completion rate.
And many felt that Konsa was the standout performer for Villa. Several fans clearly feel that he is the best defender at the club. And they have, once again, implored Gareth Southgate to recognise his form at the next opportunity.
