A number of Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Ezri Konsa’s display as the Villans endured a frustrating evening at Sheffield United on Wednesday.
Dean Smith’s men missed the chance to move to within three points of the top four. They were beaten 1-0 at Bramall Lane and remain ninth in the table.

A number of players seemed to struggle to step up against the Blades. But Konsa was arguably a real shining light for the Villans.
He was excellent in possession. And he came agonisingly close to finding the back of the net late on for the visitors.

As shown by Whoscored.com, he completed 73 accurate passes during the game. Only Tyrone Mings managed more. Meanwhile, he won four aerial duels and made three interceptions.
And his performance prompted many of the supporters to take to social media to laud Konsa’s contribution in the narrow defeat.
It is clear that several felt that he was the best player on the pitch. And one fan suggested that he is as important to their fortunes as Jack Grealish – and thus, it is vital that he is kept for a long time to come.
