A number of Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Tyrone Mings’s performance as the Villans beat West Bromwich Albion on Sunday.

Anwar El Ghazi’s brace and Bertrand Traore’s late strike ultimately settled the game. Meanwhile, the other notable incident came when Jake Livermore was sent off for a poor challenge during the first-half.

Villa managed to keep yet another clean sheet. And many felt that Mings was the standout performer for the visitors at the Hawthorns.

The 27-year-old was excellent on the ball throughout the night. As shown by Whoscored.com, he was one of the most prolific passers all of the ball all evening.

Meanwhile, he won a number of aerial duels and made a couple of interceptions.

It was not a perfect night for the centre-back. He collected a yellow card that rules him out of Villa’s Boxing Day clash with Crystal Palace.

But plenty of supporters took to social media to laud Mings’s performance. They felt that he showed his class throughout the evening. And several suggested that it was one of his better performances in what has been a hugely impressive season for Villa’s backline.
