A number of Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from the Daily Mail over the weekend suggesting that the Villans asked about a potential move for Tammy Abraham.

Dean Smith’s side have made a quiet start to the summer window. They are yet to make an addition to their first-team squad as they look to improve in their second year back in the Premier League.

But it appears that they were interested in bringing a familiar face back to Villa Park in this window. The Daily Mail reports that they have asked about Abraham.

The 22-year-old scored 26 goals to help the Villans to promotion out of the Championship during the 2018/19 season.

Unfortunately for the Villa fans hoping to see Abraham return, it would appear that they are set for disappointment.

The Mail has suggested that Abraham wants to stay at Chelsea and fight for his place.

There is clearly some frustration that Abraham will not be returning. But there are also plenty of fans who are happy to move on swiftly if the youngster does not want to return.

Villa seem to have been linked with a raft of potential targets this summer. So Smith will surely be prepared to look elsewhere now their approach for Abraham has proved unsuccessful.
