A number of Aston Villa fans have reacted on Twitter to recent reports from Sky Sports suggesting that the Villans are preparing a January bid for Brentford’s Sead Benrahma.
Benrahma has been linked with Dean Smith’s men for some time. Sky Sports reports that Villa made a number of bids for the 24-year-old in the summer. However, a deal could not be agreed.
But it appears that Smith – who was in charge of the Bees when Benrahma arrived at Griffin Park – is ready to make a fresh move.
Sky Sports reports that Villa retain an interest in the £20 million-rated playmaker. It is noted that they are also keen on Norwich City ace Emi Buendia.
Benrahma has scored twice and contributed two assists in the Championship. He is going to produce something to match last season’s tally where he scored 10 goals and provided 14 assists.
But it appears that plenty of Villa fans would happily see Benrahma denied the chance to beat those totals in the second tier. Several have insisted that he would be a brilliant signing for the Premier League newbies.
Interestingly, a couple of supporters have actually suggested that they would rather see another Championship attacker signed when the window opens. Jarrod Bowen has scored 11 times already, and some believe that he would be an even better target.
Here is some of the fans have reacted to the Benrahma reports…
I’d take him but would rather Bowen. Bowen’s contract is out this summer and so we could get him at a massive discount.

I’d take him any day hopefully he joins though and hopefully Villa get Michy Batshuayi
