A number of Aston Villa fans seem to be terrified by reports from TEAMtalk suggesting that Dean Smith is interested in signing Britt Assombalonga during the January transfer window.
Wesley’s injury has surely ensured that the Villans have to prioritise signing a new striker this month. Smith was already lacking options up front. But losing the summer signing has made it even more imperative that a new goalscorer is brought in.

Unfortunately for many of the supporters, the name that Smith reportedly wants is not one that the fans seem entirely happy with.
According to TEAMtalk, Villa are keen on signing Assombalonga. Middlesbrough may reportedly be open to selling the 27-year-old for around £10 million.

However, plenty of Villa fans are hoping that that takes Assombalonga out of their price range. The former Nottingham Forest man has scored six league goals this term.
And the supporters are not convinced that he is going to be able to make enough of an impact at the highest level.
Some fans believe that relegation will be significantly more likely if Smith brings Assombalonga to Villa Park this month and they are desperately hoping that there is nothing in the reports.
Here is what some of the fans make of the rumours…
