A number of Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Matty Cash’s display on his debut for the club on Monday night.
Cash was handed a starting spot against Sheffield United as Dean Smith’s men opened their Premier League campaign.

The first-half consisted of two particularly notable moments. John Egan was sent off for the visitors after tussling with Ollie Watkins. And Emiliano Martinez made himself an instant hero by saving John Lundstram’s penalty.
The Blades were actually very good value for being level at the break. But Villa applied almost all of the pressure after half-time.

The deadlock was broken shortly after the hour-mark, with Ezri Konsa heading home from close range.
But it was another member of the backline who seemed to impress the Villa supporters on social media, with many lauding Cash after watching his debut for the club.
‘Outstanding’
The right-back produced a number of superb crosses during the first-half in particular.
He also provided a lot of energy down the home side’s right flank, regularly running beyond Trezeguet. And the fans seemed to pick up on his willingness to take a shot from distance.
There certainly appears to be a sense that Cash is going to prove to be a superb signing for the Villans over the course of the campaign.
Here is how some of the fans reacted to his performance against Chris Wilder’s side…
