A number of Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Matt Targett’s display as the Villans suffered a defeat against Leicester City.
Dean Smith’s side have now suffered three losses in their last six games. Unfortunately for Villa, the damage was largely done by the midway point in the first-half.

Leicester took a 2-0 lead. But Villa gave themselves a lifeline just three minutes into the second-half.
Bertrand Traore scored after a superb cross from Targett found its way through to the forward. It was a moment of quality from the left-back that Villa were crying out for.

As shown by Whoscored.com, Targett’s all-round performance was a real positive for the home side. He made two key passes, more than any of his teammates.
He also made three tackles and two interceptions. Only Ahmed Elmohamady finished ahead of him in the two areas.
The former Southampton man endured a tough first season following his initial £11.5 million move (via Express and Star). But he has certainly turned a corner this term.
Targett has been a revelation for Smith’s side this year. He has more than played his part in helping the Villans keep a fantastic defensive record.
And while it was ultimately a disappointing result on Sunday, Targett seemed to impress many Villa supporters with his performance.
Here is how some of the fans reacted to his display…
