Aston Villa fans react on Twitter to John McGinn’s display vs Spurs

A number of Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to laud John McGinn’s display as the Villans produced a superb performance to beat Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday.

Dean Smith’s side were looking to bounce back from a run that had seen them take one point from their previous three games.

Initially however, it appeared that Spurs may be about to add to their frustration. Steven Bergwijn broke the deadlock with a sensational finish.

But Villa responded brilliantly. They turned the game around and made Tottenham look incredibly poor throughout the contest.

Several Villa players stepped up and produced outstanding displays. But it seems that many felt that McGinn was the pick of the bunch for the visitors.

The Scotland international helped the Villans absolutely dominate the battle in the middle of the park. As shown by Whoscored, he made two key passes and also made a couple of challenges.

McGinn’s form has dipped at times this term. But many suggested that the return of Jack Grealish helped the 26-year-old – who cost just £3 million – rediscover his best form.

He took his game to another level on Wednesday. And plenty of supporters insisted that he was the best player on the pitch in a hugely impressive win.
