Aston Villa fans react on Twitter to Jack Grealish’s display

A number of Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Jack Grealish’s performance in the Villans’ defeat to Southampton on Sunday – with many claiming that he was the one positive from the performance.

Dean Smith’s men were looking to bounce back from a heavy loss last time out. Unfortunately, the writing was on the wall for the home side inside the first hour.

They were 4-0 down after some clinical finishing from the Saints. Villa were unable to get back to level terms. But they did give it a fantastic shot as they scored three times, with two of their goals coming in stoppage-time.

And Grealish was integral to their fightback. It was his cross that Tyrone Mings headed home for Villa’s first goal.

He then won the penalty that Ollie Watkins converted in added-time. And he set up an incredibly tense finish with Villa’s third goal.

It was an impressive spell from Smith’s side. But that did not prevent a number of their players coming in for criticism for the mistakes that allowed the visitors to go so far in front.

However, Grealish has taken many plaudits on social media. He has made an outstanding start to the season, and now has four goals and four assists to his name.

And many felt that Villa would not have got near Southampton in the end were it not for Grealish stepping up once again.
