A number of fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Ezri Konsa’s display in Aston Villa’s clash with Manchester City.
The Villans missed the chance to move back into the top-half of the Premier League on Wednesday. They were beaten 2-1 by the soon-to-be champions in a dramatic game at Villa Park.
Dean Smith’s side took the lead inside 20 seconds. And both teams had a man sent off either side of the break, with John Stones dismissed for a high challenge before Matty Cash was shown a second yellow card.
Cash’s dismissal hurt Villa as they looked to get back into the game. It seemed to force Konsa to play as both a centre-back and a right-back.
City did enjoy some success down the left flank once Cash had been sent off. But Konsa seemed to do an excellent job given the circumstances he found himself in.
As shown by Whoscored, no player made more clearances than the 23-year-old.
Admittedly, it was not a night in which any Villa player really stood out and shone. But Konsa – who has enjoyed a superb season – seemed to be one of the most impressive on a frustrating night for Villa.
With that in mind, here is what some of those watching – including fans of some rival teams – made of Konsa’s display…
Best English CB

Konsa basically playing CB and RB, done much better vs foden than cash did. Cash still very raw.

My order of goodness is Konsa, Targett, Cash and then Mings.
