Aston Villa fans react on Twitter to Emmanuel Adebayor reports

A number of Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from The Sun this week suggesting that Dean Smith is one of the managers interested in signing Emmanuel Adebayor.

Villa fans will surely be hoping to see a new striker signing before the transfer window shuts. Mbwana Samatta has joined the club this month. But they still lack depth up front.

Nevertheless, it appears that the Villans supporters are not at all happy with one of the latest names to be linked with a move.

The Sun recently reported that Villa are one of the teams interested in signing Adebayor. It was suggested that Newcastle United and Brighton and Hove Albion are also keen.

Adebayor is a free agent after a spell in Turkey. The Sun claimed that the 35-year-old is keen to return to the Premier League.

‘A big fat no’

But plenty of Villa fans on social media are clearly hoping that their club does not become the fifth English team Adebayor has played for.

The Togo international turns 36 next month. And it appears that his best days are some way behind him.

Across his last two Premier League campaigns, he scored just three goals.

And even on a free transfer, the Villa supporters are hoping that there is nothing in the reports linking Adebayor with a move to the Midlands.
