According to the Telegraph, Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings is in line to make his international debut for England when Gareth Southgate’s side face Bulgaria in Sofia tonight.
After another shaky display from Everton’s Michael Keane in Friday night’s 2-1 defeat against the Czech Republic, they report that Mings is the man who has been chosen to step in and try and sure up England’s defence.
The report outlines a number of changes Southgate is reportedly considering, including introducing Harry Winks, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Marcus Rashford and Ben Chilwell.
That would see Declan Rice, who is ill, Kieran Trippier, Jadon Sancho and the suspended Danny Rose drop out as the Three Lions look for a reaction after the worst result and performance of Southgate’s reign.

Many Villa supporters on Twitter were buzzing about the report, urging Mings to do the club proud and believing he will show his quality.
Some of them can’t understand why he hasn’t played for England already, given the form of Keane, but accusations that it’s because he doesn’t play for a fashionable club are wide of the mark and based on an outdated view of how the England camp operates.
Can Mings step up and adjust to the international arena? That’s the big challenge and he would be well advised to avoid any lapses in judgement like the one that allowed Josep Drmic the chance to score for Norwich in Villa’s most recent game.
