Aston Villa fans react as Tammy Abraham misses penalty for Chelsea in Super Cup
Tammy Abraham missed the decisive penalty as Chelsea suffered a defeat in the UEFA Super Cup on penalties, after the two sides remained deadlocked at 2-2 after 120 minutes – and Aston Villa fans have reacted.
Sadio Mane was in excellent form for Liverpool as the Senegal international netted two goals in his first start of the season, equalising after Chelsea took the lead through a well-worked goal – finished by Olivier Giroud.
With the scoreline at 1-1, the match went to extra time. Mane scored his second of the match soon after the restart, slamming home an excellent effort leaving Kepa Arrizabalaga with no chance.
But England international Abraham found the breakthrough to make it 2-2 after coming on for Giroud, beating Adrian to the ball and winning a controversial penalty. Jorginho stepped up, sending Adrian the wrong way.

Chelsea had disallowed goals through Mason Mount and Christian Pulisic – with the latter impressing. Liverpool also had chances, with Kepa producing a world class save to deny Virgil van Dijk from a corner.
It went to penalties and with Liverpool netting all of their first five spot-kicks, Abraham had to score to make it 5-5 and take it into sudden death. But he put his penalty down the middle, which was saved by Adrian.
Abraham scored 25 goals on loan at Villa last season and the newly-promoted side’s fans reacted on Twitter to Abraham’s missed penalty – with many feeling sorry for the young forward, and many keen to see him return to Villa.
Devastated for Tammy Abraham, there, but it's justice as he went down easily for the pen in normal time.
Hard for a young lad to take that, though. Really want to see him bounce back. He's a top professional.
Come back to the Villa, pal.
Well done #LFC#avfc #supercupfinal

If not for 2 Abraham pens we would not be in the Premier League. Those where far bigger than a shootout in a meaningless Super Cup shootout #avfc
