The season may be over for Aston Villa playmaker Jack Grealish after he captained his boyhood club back into the Premier League, but people are still talking about him.
After England clinched the bronze medal in the inaugural Nations League yesterday, former Three Lions coach Gary Neville took aim at Grealish for how he handled the situation when he was deciding his international allegiance.
Speaking during that Nations League game on Sky Sports, 09/06, Neville said: “I don’t think you should have to fight to ask a player to play for your country. You just have to declare who you want to play for.
“When I was coaching with England, the FA were trying to win the services of Jack Grealish and he wanted meeting with managers, assurances and other such things. It’s nonsense all of that. Choose your country. If you’re good enough you’ll get in, if you’re not then you won’t.”

Neville’s comments divided the opinion of Villa fans on Twitter. Some of them thought he had a point about Grealish, who the supporters at Villa Park obviously love so dearly.
Other supporters thought Neville’s comments were nonsense themselves or not particularly relevant because of how young Grealish was at the time.
We’ve put together the best of the reaction as Grealish hit the headlines again even after his campaign was long since over…
