Aston Villa fans react as Scott Hogan linked with a return to the Championship
Championship side Stoke City are reportedly set to sign Aston Villa striker Scott Hogan on loan until the end of the season – and Villa fans are desperate to see the Irishman leave Villa Park.
The Daily Mail claim Stoke are in talks to sign 27-year-old striker Hogan, who has managed just 10 goals in 61 appearances for Villa since joining the Midlands outfit from Brentford for a fee of £10million (Express).
The signing of Wesley Moraes has pushed Hogan down the pecking order, who was already out of favour at Villa Park. The likes of Jonathan Kodjia and Keinan Davis are also above the Ireland international in the rankings.

Stoke do have options up front in the form of Sam Vokes and Benik Afobe but Nathan Jones wants to bring in another striker in order to give his side the best chance of achieving a push for the top six come May 2020.
Hogan went on loan to Sheffield United during the second half of last season, but only managed two goals as he continues to reignite his career. Those two goals were crucial, though, in helping the Blades get promoted.
Aston Villa fans have reacted on Twitter to the reported news that Hogan could be about to join Stoke City on loan, and many are happy to see him leave the Midlands club. Others have asked why a move is not a permanent one.
Please take him
