Swansea City forward Borja Baston is reportedly set to have a medical with Aston Villa ahead of a potential move on a permanent basis – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter are not too pleased with the speculation.

The Express and Star reports that the Spanish striker will undergo a medical ahead of a move to the Midlands.

Its is explained that the 27-year-old is set to arrive on a free transfer in the closing stages of the January transfer window, as his contract with Championship outfit Swansea expires in the summer.

Dean Smith’s side look like they could end up bringing in another attacker to mean they have three senior options for their striker position, which was area they had no choice not too long ago.

If Baston’s deal gets pushed over the line, he will battle Mbwana Samatta and Keinan Davis for the central striker role.

A selection of Villa supporters on social media are not happy with the Baston speculation on deadline day and don’t believe he can make much of an impact.

Baston has six goals this season in all competitions for Swansea, but his form has dried up massively in recent months after a strong start in the Championship.

He’s not managed to live up to expectation since his £15million (BBC) to Swansea in 2016 and has already been shipped out on two separate loans during that time.
