Aston Villa have reportedly failed with a bid to try sign Lyon attacker Bertrand Traore – but some of the club’s supporters on Twitter are excited by the target and would to see them launch a second attempt for his signature.
Foot Mercato reports that Dean Smith’s side have seen a £15.7million offer for him turned down by French side Lyon, who value him at around £21.3million.
The report explains that interest is still there for him this summer, with Premier League teams Newcastle United, Fulham and Crystal Palace all circling still for him.
Traore, 25, isn’t a regular starter for his current club Lyon and has been an unused substitute in the opening two games of the 2020/21 campaign.
But the left-footer winger was a decent option though last season when used by the Champions League semi-finalists, scoring four goals and supplying five assists in 35 gams across all competitions.
He’s had a small amount of experience in English football with two goals in 10 Premier League appearances for Chelsea, but he’s matured massively since then as a youngster and Villa were prepared to pay nearly £16million for his services.

A selection of Villa supporters on social media believe that the Lyon right-winger could be a great addition to their squad and would love the club to submit another bid for him.
