Tyrone Mings has described how he feels “very proud” to receive an England call-up. Gareth Southgate has named his squad for the upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers and Mings is included in the defence.
The Aston Villa defender has been a rock this season and fans believe he thoroughly deserves his call-up. Mings will be hoping for his England debut after he was an unused substitute for both of the last two games.
Mings’ form for the Villans has prompted Southgate to call Mings back into the squad. This season, he has contributed to two clean sheets, as well as making 54 clearances, 10 interceptions and 53 recoveries (as per the Premier League).
Upon receiving his second call-up, Mings took to Twitter to say: “Very proud to receive another call up. See you next week”.
Aston Villa fans flocked to social media to congratulate the towering left-footed centre-half on his latest recognition. Villa supporters believe this is fully justified after an impressive start to the campaign. Here are some tweets in response to Mings’ England message.
