Aston Villa striker Jonathan Kodjia has been linked with a move away from the club before European countries’ deadline of September 2 – and Villa fans have reacted on Twitter to the news.
Turkish newspaper Fanatik have claimed 29-year-old Kodjia is being eyed by Besiktas this summer, with the report claiming that Besiktas chiefs are to meet with Villa to discuss a deal for the Ivory Coast international.
Kodjia was used as a back-up striker last season by Dean Smith, with Chelsea loanee Tammy Abraham nabbing at a ratio better than one goal every two games last term. Wesley Moraes replaced Abraham in the summer.

It sees former Bristol City star Kodjia – who joined Villa for £15million (Guardian) in the summer of 2016 – remain the Premier League side’s back-up. With 12 months left on his deal, he could be allowed to leave the club.
Dean Smith has stated that he sees Kodjia better suited to the Premier League than the Championship, but the reality is that Villa may look to cash in given Kodjia’s contract is running out.
Aston Villa fans reacted on Twitter to the reported news that Besiktas are in talks to sign Kodjia this summer, and many are worried that the club will be left with little options up front.
