Aston Villa have confirmed on their official website that assistant manager John Terry has extended his contract with the club.
They report that the deal extends his ties with the club until 2021, following the club’s promotion back to the Premier League.
Manager Dean Smith said: “I am really pleased that JT has extended his current deal as he is a pleasure to work with. We have had a successful start to our Villa coaching careers and he has been instrumental.
“He has complimented the team that we have and I have no doubts he will go on to be a top manager in the years to come. Our focus now is on the coming season and to try to continue the progress we have had in the past eight months.”

Naturally the Villa fans are absolutely delighted by the news and reacted to the club’s official Twitter account posting the news with many messages of glee.
They’re buzzing to see Terry reaffirm his commitment to the club as they embark on their return to the Premier League and we’ve got the best of the reaction together…
