Aston Villa fans react as Jack Grealish signs contract extension

Jack Grealish has put pen-to-paper on a new five-year contract keeping him at Aston Villa until 2025, as confirmed on the club’s official website.

The 25-year-old was instrumental as the Villans secured their Premier League status with survival on the final day of last season.

During the 2018/19 campaign, he stepped out of the treatment room to lead Villa on a remarkable run that saw them defeat Derby in the Play-Off Final and win promotion.

The news of a new deal pretty much ends any speculation over his future, with Manchester United linked with a move throughout the summer months.

Grealish recently made his England debut and being a homegrown player and Villa fan, things couldn’t be any better for the player right now.

The captain has clearly been attracted by the direction the club is going in under Dean Smith’s management and it’s a big piece of news for the Villans.

Villa take on Burton Albion in the Carabao Cup tonight and it’ll be interesting to see whether Grealish does feature, or whether it’ll be a makeshift team.
