Aston Villa fans react as Jack Grealish is handed no. 7 shirt for England

Jack Grealish will be on the plane for England this summer for Euro 2020.

And the Aston Villa star will be wearing one of the nation’s most iconic numbers. The Three Lions confirmed that the 24-year-old attacker will don the no. 7 shirt for England during the tournament.

The number is one of the most famous in the history of the England national team.

Additionally, the likes of Sir Stanley Matthews, Kevin Keegan and David Beckham have worn the shirt during international tournaments.

Grealish on England news: ‘I had goosebumps’

Indeed, it will be Grealish who inherits the number for England for Euro 2020 this summer.

In addition, the Villa captain couldn’t believe he had been awarded the shirt, with the winger admitting via England’s official Twitter account that the announcement gave him ‘goosebumps’.

Of course, it was a big moment for the 24-year-old Premier League star. Furthermore, Aston Villa fans on social media were delighted for Grealish, who has been one of the club’s best performing players this season.
