Aston Villa fans react as club reportedly eye Benfica star Franco Cervi

Aston Villa are reportedly interested in signing Benfica winger Franco Cervi this summer with the Midlands side potentially in the market to replace left-winger Jack Grealish – and Villa fans have reacted on Twitter.

Grealish continued to be linked with a move to Manchester United and other big clubs in the Premier League, after a stunning 2019-20 campaign that has seen the Villa captain likely to be handed his England debut.

Portuguese website A Bola claim Aston Villa are interested in luring Argentina international Cervi to the Midlands, with the 26-year-old naturally a left-sided winger – currently where Grealish plays in claret and blue.

Since his move to Benfica from San Lorenzo in 2016, Cervi has been a mainstay of the Benfica side – already surpassing 150 appearances in all competitions for the Portuguese side. Benfica finished second last term.

Aston Villa are not the only side eyeing Cervi, though. The same report claims Besiktas and Alanyaspor are both interested in raiding Benfica for Cervi, but a move to the Premier League may prove more tempting than Turkey.

Aston Villa supporters have reacted on Twitter to reports that the club could be looking to bring Cervi the Midlands in the coming weeks, and many are desperate to see the Argentine signed.
