Aston Villa reportedly had a bid accepted for Celta Vigo speed machine Pione Sisto this summer though a move failed to materialise – and Villa fans have reacted on Twitter.
Spanish newspaper Marca have claimed that Villa tabled an offer worth £9.3million that was accepted by the La Liga club, after the Denmark international managed just eight starts in Spain’s top tier last season.
However, 24-year-old Sisto opted to reject a move to the Premier League. He was offered £18,000 a week to join the Midlands club, but Sisto chose to ignore a move despite being given a pay rise – and hardly playing last season.

The former FC Midtjylland speed machine has scored 10 goals and laid on 14 assists in 89 La Liga appearances. He has two years remaining on his contract with Celta, who unhappy with his decision to reject a move to Villa.
Villa have been busy this summer, spending more than £100million on the likes of Tyrone Mings, Wesley Moraes, Matty Targett and Douglas Luiz. They have brought in three wingers, in Anwar El Ghazi, Jota and Trezeguet.
Villa fans reacted to the reported news that their club almost signed Sisto, only for the Danish speed machine to reject a move to Villa Park – and many believe he would have been a good signing for Smith’s side.
