Aston Villa are reportedly preparing an £8million bid to sign Kasimpasa winger Trezeguet this summer as the Egyptian star continues to shine at the African Cup of Nations – and Villa fans have reacted on Twitter.

The Sun claim Villa scouts have been impressed by Trezeguet at the African Cup of Nations, after he helped Egypt win all three opening group games – including the winner in a 1-0 win over Zimbabwe.

The 24-year-old joined Turkish side Kasimpasa in the summer of 2017 on loan before the move was made permanent 12 months later. He has since clocked up 25 goals and 18 assists for the SuperLig outfit.

Trezeguet also impressed at the World Cup in Russia last summer and is a national teammate of Villa defender Ahmed El Mohamady. He has a contract at Kasimpasa until the summer of 2021.

However, Villa are still looking to add to their options out wide despite already securing a permanent deal for Anwar El Ghazi and bringing in Spaniard Jota from bitter rivals Birmingham City.

Villa fans took to Twitter after hearing of the news that their club could be about to land Trezeguet this summer for a bargain fee of £8million, and many are desperate to see Dean Smith get a deal done.
