Aston Villa fans react as club is linked with Ismaila Sarr move

Aston Villa fans have been reacting to reports their club could be set to fight Liverpool for Ismaila Sarr.

France Football have claimed the Midlands side are ready to outbid the Reds for the Watford star, who caught the eye with some lively displays in the Premier League last season.

Apparently there is an agreement between Liverpool and Watford, but Villa are keen to hijack the proposed move, and get Sarr into their new-look frontline.

Villa have already signed Ollie Watkins and Bertrand Traore, and talk of Milot Rashica signing appears to have cooled.

Sarr made 28 Premier League appearances last term and was one of the Hornets’ standout players in a poor season that culminated in relegation to the Championship.

The Senegal international was praised for his direct style and dribbling.

Last night, Sarr was left out of Watford’s EFL Cup squad to face Newport County, suggesting something might be going on behind the scenes.

On social media, Villa fans have been unable to help themselves from getting carried away.
