Aston Villa striker Scott Hogan is wanted by play-off rivals Bristol City in the summer transfer window, according to the Bristol Post.
They report that Lee Johnson’s side are keen to invest in their squad, regardless of whether they get promoted to the Premier League, and that they had their eye on Hogan in January.
Johnson is apparently ready to swoop for Hogan, who the BBC report cost Villa £12m when he joined from Brentford in 2017, to boost his striking options.
The clubs are both battling for a spot in that all-important top six and face each other on Saturday in a game that will go a long way towards deciding who will make it.

Hogan is currently out on loan at promotion-chasers Sheffield United but has struggled to make an impact – just as he has at Villa Park.
That means that Villa fans took to Twitter to express that they would like Hogan to leave and end his somewhat nightmare spell in the west Midlands.
We’ve put together the best of the reaction, but it’s clear to see that the supporters want Hogan gone by the time the new season kicks off…
