Aston Villa fans react as Abraham reportedly wants to try his luck at Chelsea
Tammy Abraham has told Aston Villa that he wants to chance his arm at getting into Chelsea’s first team next season, according to the Sun.
They report that Dean Smith is eyeing a reunion with Brentford striker Neal Maupay because the Englishman has informed him that he won’t be coming back to Villa Park next season.
Abraham was key to Villa’s recent promotion, with his prolific goalscoring form providing the springboard for the return to the top flight.
But he has never really done it in the top flight on a regular basis, and despite Chelsea’s transfer ban, it’ll be a tough ask for him to cut it at Stamford Bridge, given the club’s historic failure to blood young talent.

It was an amicable reaction from the Villa supporters on Twitter to the news that Abraham will not be returning – as they were keen to think the striker for his contribution to getting them back into the big time.
Perhaps Maupay will be the man to take up the goalscoring mantle – or maybe not – but it’s clear that there’s very little ill will from the West Midlands towards Abraham for having a crack with a Champions League side…

Showed his commitment when he could have gone to the Dingles ..we wouldn't be in the premier League without his contribution…nor had that 10 match winning run ..and his goals…think of the pressure on him taking the penalty against the yam yams (twice).. thank you Tammy 👍👏👏

Chelsea will need all the squad depth they can get with the transfer ban; sure he will get a few chances there. Can't fault him. Thanks for the goals!

He’s a loan player, that’s fine. Thank him for being a big part of getting us promoted and leave the door open if he doesn’t get his games.
