Cheltenham Town have confirmed on their official website that Aston Villa midfielder Jake Doyle-Hayes has joined them on a season-long loan.
After a League Two loan spell with Cambridge last season, the Republic of Ireland Under 19 international has returned to the fourth tier for 2019/20.
He told Town’s official website: “The form last season was unbelievable towards the end of the season since Christmas. When I was at Cambridge just watching the league, Cheltenham had a really good end to the season so hopefully we can keep the momentum going.
“They’re a good group of lads from what I’ve seen so far. It’s a different experience playing in League Two rather than the Under 23s, it’s a lot more demanding.”

Loads of Villa fans took to Twitter to wish the midfielder well with his loan spell, with one remarking that he perhaps could have got a move to a higher tier.
There aren’t any calling for him to be in the side this season – that would be a big ask in the Premier League – but there was a lot of excitement about the player the Irishman could become in the future.
This loan move is the next step for him and if he impresses, Dean Smith is the type of manager who will give young players a chance.
