Aston Villa are reportedly interested in Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have responded by stating they would rather avoid him.
According to the Daily Mail, Dean Smith’s side have the Championship shot-stopper on their radar this summer.
It is understood that the 27-year-old is also attracting interest from Premier League outfit Bournemouth.
The report explains that Villa’s attention is on trying to sign Burnley’s Tom Heaton, despite having the Fulham ace on their radar.
Bettinelli is back in the Championship for the new season as it stands following Fulham’s relegation last year, where he played a fringe role.
He spent most of the campaign on the sidelines due to a mixture of injuries and also being out of favour, but was drafted into the England senior squad when he did feature at Craven Cottage in the Premier League.

A selection of Villa supporters on social media don’t believe that Bettinelli could make a serious impact if he joined and would rather stay clear of him.
They do have Jed Steer in their ranks who helped them get out of the Championship, but he’s played just one game in the Premier League during his career.
