Aston Villa are reportedly interested in midfielder Ruben Alcaraz from Spanish club Real Valladolid – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter are not made up by the speculation.
Marca reports that Dean Smith’s side have entered the race for the La Liga midfielder.
It is understood that the Midlands club could battle Getafe for the 28-year-old, who is valued at roughly £8.8million.
Villa will have the appeal of Premier League football next season after winning the Championship play-off final and they put together a late run in the season to earn promotion.
They will need quality reinforcements to compete next year and are looking to raid the Spanish top-flight.
Alcaraz helped Valladolid avoid relegation in the 2018/19 campaign and played 35 times across all competitions for them.
He is a central midfielder that can help screen the back four with defensive disincline and is a pass master too.

A selection of Villa fans on social media have expressed their concerns about the potential arrival of the Spanish midfielder.
He’s never played domestic football outside of his homeland, but would surely have the physicality and also the experience to have a crack at the Premier League.
Here are some of the Villa fans that aren’t convinced by the Alcaraz rumours:
