It has been quite the summer for Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish. The playmaker was heavily linked with a £25 million move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer. However, Aston Villa stood firm and the attacker remained at Villa Park.

Yesterday, he confirmed his commitment to Aston Villa. The 23-year-old signed a new five-year deal at the club.

It seems that Grealish is now ready to remain at Aston Villa for the next five years. However, you can understand if some Aston Villa fans refuse not to take the news with a pinch of salt.

Because it is not long ago that Aston Villa found themselves in a similar position with Fabian Delph.

The England international left the club in July 2015. He joined Manchester City in a deal worth just £8 million.

This came just six months after he signed a new five-year deal to remain with the club. Even worse than that, were the comments he made a week previously. The midfield dynamo stated he would not be leaving Aston Villa on the 11th July 2015. On the 17th, he was unveiled at Manchester City.
