Aston Villa are reportedly interested in Juventus goalkeeper Mattia Perin – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter are keen for the move to be completed.

Sky Italy journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports on his official website that Dean Smith’s side want the Serie A player.

The report details that Fabio Paratici, who is the Juventus sporting director, has travelled to England for talks about the 26-year-old.

It is understood that the Italian has already seen a move to Benfica fall through this summer.

The Midlands club have been linked with several goalkeepers so far this summer and are now looking abroad.

Perin was the number two option at Juventus last season, but managed five clean sheets in his nine Serie A appearance.

He earned his move to Juventus after impressing for a number of years with Genoa, but has had some extremely bad luck with injuries already in his career.

A selection of Villa supporters on social media are convinced that Perin would be a smart addition for them and is worth signing this summer.

The Midlands giants currently have Jed Steer in-between the sticks and he did help them earn promotion via the Championship play-offs last season.
