Tottenham Hotspur secured a 2-0 win over Aston Villa in the Midlands on Sunday night as Lucas Moura produced a sparkling display in attacking midfield – and even Villa supporters took to Twitter to praise the Brazilian ace.

Spurs came into the match having suffered two dismal defeats in the space of a few days. Firstly, losing the North London derby and losing track in the race for the top four of the Premier League, before Dinamo Zagreb in the week.

The loss in Croatia ended their chances of winning the Europa League, a real possibility given the remaining eight teams in the competition. But Spurs ended that losing streak with a comfortable 2-0 win at Villa Park.

Tactically, Spurs outlcassed and perhaps even surprised Villa somewhat – starting with both Harry Kane and Carlos Vinicius up front. The latter scored the first, before England skipper Kane won and scored a penalty.

But it was 28-year-old Lucas that impressed. Playing in between the lines, he was a nightmare to mark and dribbled past Villa players with ease – while also securing his 16th goal involvement of the season, setting up Vinicius.

Villa fans reacted on Twitter to the £80,000-a-week (Spotrac) star’s performance and many were amazed by his efforts. One fans even suggested that Lucas is the kind of player Villa need to be looking at this summer.
