Aston Villa could only manage a draw on Thursday away to Everton – but some of the club’s supporters on Twitter were impressed by the impact of attacker Keinan Davis from the bench for them.

Dean Smith’s side recorded a 1-1 draw at Goodison Park in the Premier League, as they missed out on three points that would have been huge in their fight against relegation.

Ezri Konsa gave the Midlands club the advantage in the 72nd minute, but Theo Walcott’s later header meant that teams couldn’t be separated.

The result means that Villa are three points from safety with two games left in their season, while 16th-placed West Ham host 17th-placed Watford on Friday night.

Davis has scored just once in cup during his 21 first-team appearances this season, but the academy graduate has shown he’s a strong target man that can bring others into play and just needs to sharpen up his finishing.

The 22-year-old striker replaced teammate Mbwana Samatta in the 64th minute for Everton and had a strong impact.

He won the free-kick in the build up for Villa’s opener, plus showed his physical strength to ask questions of the Everton backline and make it difficult for them.

A selection of Villa supporters on social media were praising Davis for his contribution off the bench and believe his introduction was a turning point.
