Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly placed attacking midfielder Josh Onomah on the transfer list – and Aston Villa fans have reacted to the news by urging Dean Smith to bring him back to Villa Park.
Onomah went on loan to Sheffield Wednesday last season but only managed 15 appearances for Steve Bruce’s side during the 2018-19 campaign, as injuries stunted his momentum with the Yorkshire side.
The England Under-21 international played for Bruce under Aston Villa during the 2017-18 season, clocking up 37 appearances in all competitions for the Midlands side – scoring four goals and creating three more.
The Daily Mail have now claimed that Spurs have placed Onomah on the transfer list along with seven other players, which includes first-team stars Kieran Trippier, Victor Wanyama, Danny Rose and Serge Aurier.
Spurs outcasts Cameron Carter-Vickers, Vincent Janssen and Marcus Edwards have also been transfer-listed. Onomah still has two years left on his current deal, though it remains to be seen how much Spurs will want for him.
Spotrac claim Onomah is earning £30,000 a week, and now Aston Villa fans are keen to see Onomah return to Villa Park this summer with Tottenham no longer interested in keeping the England youth international in north London.
Yeah. On his day he’s a brilliant little player, he just don’t have too many days. Have him as a squad player

I liked him, harshly criticised but a decent back up player don’t see why not

I'd have him on loan with the option to buy. Might be useful if he gets a chance in the season due to injuries, or over christmas

For around £5M, I'd take Onomah back in a heartbeat. Clearly a talent, good for depth, knows the club and many of the players already, and provides competition for Jack, who currently has no natural replacement. I'd definitely do it, but at a low price after last season #AVFC
