Aston Villa supporters have lavished praise on Matt Targett for his performance against Crystal Palace yesterday.
The Villans’ great form continued, with Dean Smith’s side running out 3-0 winners despite a first-half red card for Tyrone Mings, who clashed with Wilfried Zaha.
Ming’s dismissal could have been disastrous for the hosts, but it actually appeared to galvanise Villa, who were no match for the Eagles in the Midlands.

Goals came from Bertrand Traore, Kortney Hause and Anwar El Ghazi, with Emi Martinez once again in inspired form between the sticks.
It was a fantastic win, and response to going a player down early in the match, and Villa are looking a different animal in 2020/21.
Near enough every player is having a top season so far, with the superb Jack Grealish the pick of the bunch.
One man who has been very consistent is left-back Matt Targett, who has come in for big credit on social media following his display against Palace.

The 25-year-old won 11 of his 15 duels according to Sofascore, and also made six tackles – which was the most of anybody.
He doesn’t always get the headlines, but Targett is quietly going about his business for Villa and is impressively reliable.
On social media, there has been a love-in for the £35,000-a-week star (Spotrac) since yesterday’s game:
