Aston Villa snatched a late 1-0 victory away to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday afternoon – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter picked out goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez as their standout player.
Dean Smith’s side secured all three points at Molineux with their 1-1 win in the West Midlands derby, with defences on top until the closing stages.
Substitute Anwar El Ghazi stepped up to convert a penalty kick in the 94th minute, but the only negative is Douglas Luiz was shown a red card for a second bookable offence and teammate Matty Cash also needs to serve a suspension for picking up his fifth yellow card of the season.
Villa got into plenty of decent goalscoring positions without the end product for the most part, while for Wolves they will have felt they should have scored but they ran into a top goalkeeper that thoroughly earned his clean sheet.

Summer signing Martinez made a handful of top saves in the Villa net, including a reflex block to deny a close-range effort from Leander Dendoncker in the second-half.
The 28-year-old now has five clean sheets in 10 appearances since his arrival and yet again was resilient behind the defence.
A selection of Villa supporters on social media believe that their Argentine goalkeeper was man of the match for them, as his performance set up the foundation for them to snatch a late winner.
