Henri Lansbury played for just the fifth time this season as he finally looks to end a nightmare campaign that has been blighted by injury – but Aston Villa fans do not feel he is worth the wait on Twitter.

The 28-year-old made his first Championship start of the entire campaign on Sunday afternoon, as Villa looked to end their season on a high at home to Norwich City – before the dreaded play-offs.

Lansbury started alongside Glenn Whelan and Conor Hourihane against champions Norwich, and lasted 80 minutes before being substituted and replaced by Birkir Bjarnason.

Ahead of the play-offs, Lansbury’s return to action will have delighted manager Dean Smith. The manager will want as many options available to him as possible, and having a player with Lansbury’s quality will be a boost.

Villa eventually lost the clash, though. Teemu Pukki continued his unbelievable goalscoring streak with a neat finish in the seventh minute before Jonathan Kodjia equalised soon after.

Mario Vrancic scored his third goal in four games to earn a 2-1 win for Norwich with just five minutes left on the clock. Villa fans took to Twitter after the match to discuss Lansbury, with some of the opinion he should be sold.
