Aston Villa fans fume with Wesley Moraes for latest performance

Aston Villa were held to a draw at home to Burnley on Saturday afternoon in the Premier League – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter vented their frustration at centre-forward Wesley Moraes.

Villa manager Dean Smith saw his side surrender a lead on two seperate occasions to end up with a 2-2 result.

Anwar El Ghazi put the hosts in front in the first-half with an excellent finish into the far corner, before Jay Rodriguez equalised for the visits in the 68th minute.

John McGinn’s 79th minute strike put the Midlands giants back in front, but just two minutes later Chris Wood gave Burnley yet another equaliser and the teams took a point each.

It means that Smith’s team have just five points from their opening seven league games and currently sit in the drop zone.

A selection of Villa supporters on social media directed their anger at Wesley for his individual display and feel he let down the side.

The 22-year-old continued his role as the main striker, but failed to get on the scoresheet and has two goals from his seven games so far.

He was given a tough time against Burnley’s fierce centre-back combination of Ben Mee and James Tarkwoski, who got the better of him and kept his attacking threat limited.
