A number of Aston Villa fans took to Twitter to express some sympathy for Mbwana Samatta following the Villans’ defeat to Leicester City on Monday.
Dean Smith’s men missed the chance to move out of the relegation zone at the King Power Stadium. They were beaten 4-0, with the Foxes scoring three times after the hour mark.

It was a frustrating night for Samatta. Whoscored.com shows that he managed just one attempt on goal – and that went off target.
The Tanzania international made an impact in last week’s Carabao Cup final with a goal to make things interesting against Manchester City.

And plenty of fans believe that Samatta is one of the players who should not shoulder much of the blame for Monday’s mauling.
The supporters felt that he was starved of service, and they saw enough to suggest that he was one of the players putting in enough of a shift.
Whoscored.com shows that no player who started the game enjoyed a smaller percentage of possession, and he only managed 28 touches.
In fairness, he actually won four aerial duels and three tackles. Only a handful of players performed better in those particular areas.
Samatta has made a promising start to life at Villa. And the fans believe that he could make an impact during the coming months – but they are imploring his teammates to give him something to work with.
