Aston Villa fans erupt over ‘awesome’ news ahead of Liverpool trip

Aston Villa fans have been celebrating the news that Villans prodigy Cameron Archer has signed a new contract at the club.

On Friday, Villa announced that the 20-year-old had put pen to paper on a deal until the summer of 2025.

Archer is one of the most talented youngsters to come through the ranks at Bodymoor Heath in recent years.

Born in Walsall on 9 December 2001, the striker joined the Villa ranks aged six.

He broke into the Under-23 side at the age of 16 and made his debut in 2019 against Crewe in the Carabao Cup.

Archer is now in and around the first team, with five senior appearances this term.

He’s also still featuring for the Under-21/23s, with six appearances in the Premier League 2 and EFL Trophy.

However, Archer has very much outgrown age-level football – he has eight goals from those six games.

And in the Carabao Cup this season, he’s bagged four goals, including one against Chelsea.

Needless to say, Villa fans are excited about Archer’s future:

Villa face Liverpool on Saturday amid an upturn in form and mood following Steven Gerrard’s appointment.

The Reds legend has quickly turned Villa’s form around, and the claret-and-blue faithful will be optimistic heading to Anfield.
