Aston Villa have reportedly made a bid for Brentford attacker Said Benrahma – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter are delighted with the speculation.

According to Le 10 Sport, manager Dean Smith wants to raid his former side Brentford and bring in the 23-year-old.

The report details that Villa have launched a £8.9million offer for the winger.

Benrahma has just enjoyed an excellent individual campaign for Brentford in the Championship, where he was directly involved in 28 goals in 45 games across all competitions.

The Algeria international spent all of his senior career in French football before he made the switch to England last summer.

A selection of Villa fans have responded to the Benrahma speculation by stating that he would be a strong addition to their squad.

The Midlands giants are back in the Premier League next season after winning promotion via the Championship play-offs and Smith feels that a reunion with the Brentford dazzler will help.

He would certainly crank up competition in wide areas at Villa Park next season and they have already signed winger Jota from Birmingham this summer.

It would be a step up in class for Benrahma in the Premier League, but Wolverhampton Wanderers are living proof this season of how teams can adjust.
