Conor Hourihane has signed a new contract with Aston Villa – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter are celebrating the news.
The Midlands giants have confirmed on their official website that the 28-year-old has penned a contract extension.
He’s currently in pre-season training with Dean Smith’s squad and the club have committed their future to him.
Hourihane helped them secure promotion from the Championship last season and is preparing for life in the Premier League.
The Irish central midfielder has never tasted top-flight before, but has had a great career in the Championship and will be looking to make the step up.
He made 48 appearances across all competitions last season, scoring nine goals and supplied 12 assists in return.

A selection of Villa supporters on social media are thrilled to see Hourihane sign a new deal and are looking forward to seeing him in action for the new campaign.
He formed a solid midfield trio alongside Jack Grealish and John McGinn last season, but it will be a sizeable tasking replicating the same kind of form in the Premier League.
