Wolves came out on top in their West Midlands derby against Aston Villa yesterday at Molineux, clinching a 2-1 victory thanks to goals from Ruben Neves and Raul Jimenez.
The visitors didn’t really get going during the first half, at the end of which left back Matt Targett was forced off with concussion, to be replaced by Neil Taylor.
Welshman Taylor struggled to deal with the pace of Adama Traore, most notably on the second goal, when the former Middlesbrough man raced around him to tee up Jimenez.
Smith had obviously detailed Targett to deal with Traore but his plans had to change because of the head injury and Taylor never got to grips with his rapid opponent.

The supporters on Twitter were not sympathetic to that and tore into Taylor for his poor performance in one of the biggest games of their season so far.
There was some heavy criticism for the former Swansea man, although better players than the £32,000-a-week (Spotrac) man will probably struggle against Traore on this sort of form.
That doesn’t help Villa fans, who saw their side put in the kind of performance which will see them embroiled in a relegation battle if they don’t improve.
