Aston Villa fans 'completely agree' with CEO's transfer plan for this summer
Aston Villa supporters are on board with Christian Purslow’s latest comments on the club’s plans for this summer.
Speaking to VillaTV via Birmingham Live, the club CEO revealed that there won’t be too many incomings in the transfer window for Aston Villa.
Purslow clearly stated that plans are in place to improve the quality of the squad and for current players to continue their development.
Villa finished 11th in the Premier League this season, a big improvement on their 17th place finish in 2019/20. And Dean Smith’s signings from last summer play a huge role in this leap in quality.
Emi Martinez was a hero between the sticks for Villa, whilst Ollie Watkins has provided valuable firepower in the attack. Matty Cash and Bertrand Traore have also been prominent figures in the starting XI.
And supporters on social media agreed that few extra signings were needed, with fans believing that quality over quantity is the way forward for Villa.
Here’s what some fans had to say on Twitter about Purslow’s comments…

Sounds good. Two quality players, perhaps an experienced player. Bring through 3 or 4 of the youth….squad is looking good.— Joey2Arms (@Joey2Arms) May 26, 2021
Completely agree with this. We have so much talent at the club, in the first team and the youth. We don’t need to waste money buying players for the sake of it and waiting for them to become prem ready. We now need to buy players that are ready for make an instant difference https://t.co/c1lpzMo0WE— Kurt (@_kjs1874) May 26, 2021
Exactly what I expected to read to be honest, it was never going to be a squad overhaul again, a few additions along with a couple of youngsters should be enough to improve the squad and take us to the next level. #UTV 👍👍— The Fabled Sage 🦁 (@FabledSage) May 26, 2021
Owners have been fantastic so far but this upcoming season will tell us how ambitious there plan’s really are ! A couple of squad fillers or a couple of statement signings #UTV— THORPE VILLA (@Markham62) May 26, 2021
