Aston Villa fans call out manager to start Chukwuemeka as youngster is linked with transfer

Aston Villa supporters have called out manager Dean Smith to give 17-year-old midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka minutes in the first-team following reports that European and Premier League teams are interested in the youngster.

The Atheltic report that the likes of Manchester City and Monaco are interested in the teenage playmaker, with other European clubs said to be interested in fast-tracking Chukwuemeka into the senior set-up should the England youth international be allowed to leave Villa Park this summer.

Chukwuemeka is yet to make his first-team appearance for Villa this season despite mounting injuries in the midfield, and for Villa supporters on social media, this news was seen as a warning to manager Dean Smith that the club should give the teenager a chance in the Premier League with six games left to play and the club likely to finish in midtable.

Chukwuemeka has made the bench just once in the Villa first-team, that coming in last week’s 2-1 loss to Manchester City.
