It was a result and a performance that Aston Villa needed after a dreadful run of form in the Premier League.
Dean Smith’s side claimed a 2-1 win over Tottenham in their first league game with fans back at stadiums after going almost the entire season without spectators, and Villa put on a dazzling performance, with Jack Grealish and Ollie Watkins both returning to the starting XI to put Spurs to the sword.

The English international’s impressed in north London, yet another countryman who was in fine form was Ezri Konsa, who started the game in the right-back position with Matty Cash out on the injury table. And the former Brentford defender put in a solid shift, with the Athetlic’s Villa writer Gregg Evans labelling the 23-year-old as ‘a force’ at the back against Spurs.
And Villa supporters agreed with the statement, with fans on social media eager to see Konsa play in the position next season should Cash be out injured once again.

Here’s what some supporters had to say about Konsa playing at right-back on Twitter following last night’s win over Spurs…
Konsa has formed a solid partnership with Tyrone Mings this season, with the duo keeping 15 clean sheets in the Premier League.
